Or the book itself can be a central plot device, much like NotTasha's 'Down the Amazon' Series." -- Now, how could I pass that up? Yes, it's back to the Amazon Series. Vin knows that something has been bothering Ezra ever since their last go-round. Another trip to another nearby town might fix it, but...as usual... a bit of mayhem makes things difficult. (Ezra and Vin) WINNER of Gold 2003 Ezzie Award - OW Gen Fic (Medium) / Amazon Series WINNER of a 2003 Mistresses of Malarkey Award - Best Gen Sequential Fic
Devil of a Time: 10/0/02 - 2k words October 02 Magnificent 7 Challenge: Offered by Nuttiegirl. "Write a fic featuring one of the seven that you do not normally write as the main character in your fiction. Of course, if you want to add some fun and frivolity to it all, feel free to throw in a missing mummy, a vampiric baddie or a cadre of werewolves carting contraband! After all, it is Halloween!" -- okay, so I tried to focus on Chris since he's rarely been featured in one of my challenge stories, but some of the others snuck in at the end. It's Halloween -- that's a holiday just made for mayhem. (Chris and the Boys).

Quiet: 09/03/02 - 2k words September 02 Magnificent 7 Challenge: Offered by Libby: "This month’s theme is the famed dime novel which brought fantastic tales back east of incredible exploits in the wild west. Broad, sweeping generalizations – and all preconceived expectations held by greenhorns and ladies fanning themselves so as not to swoon in their lavish parlors. So the boys should follow a stereotype, and the action should be dramatic! heroic! unbelievable!" --  This one is just plain silly, with just a dash of mayhem. (Ezra and Buck)
Pie in the Sky: 08/09/02 - 4k words August 02 Magnificent 7 Challenge: Offered by Flavia: "Write to me about memories and cooking. Okay, and then Sue on the M7Fic list asked for this challenge "A fic for the 4th of July holiday! Any length, even a snippet, would be fine, as well as any universe where they'd celebrate the 4th!" okay, so that's in here too. Since I was combining two, I thought I'd throw in a third. Heather Lane offered a challenge on the BrigaDear's list: "See if you can write a story that has somewhere in it: Ezra knew something was wrong the second he opened his eyes. He stared at the ceiling for a moment trying to figure just what it was..." -- OKAY! That's it with the challenges! Let's see what this baby looks like.
